Green taxes

"Green" taxes are direct and indirect taxes levied on environmentally harmful activities to make companies and individuals take account of the environmental costs of their activities. "Green" taxes have been introduced to reduce environmentally harmful emissions to air and water, and to reduce the amount of waste generated.
